Simon Panay is 25. In 2012, he went in Africa to shoot his first documentary film: “Tontines, une affaire de femmes” and 2014 his second documentary “Waiting for the (t)rain ”. In the same year received a Prize of Best Talented Young Director of the Year from the prestigious Organization ARP. His last documentary “Nobody Dies Here”, shot in an illegal gold mine in Benin, has been presented to 300 Film festivals around the world, won 93 Awards and qualified for the 90th Academy Awards and also, won the Best Documentary of Sound & Image Challenge International Festival 2017 in Macau.
In 2016, he met Xavier Castano, the producer of Jean-Jacques Annaud (Seven Years In Tibet, Enemy at the Gate, The Name of the Rose, The Bear, Black Gold, Wolf Totem…). He produces his first feature film fiction “Day 26”,actually in development.
